More May Deliveries

As I mentioned in the last post, if you’re shopping online, you’ll only be able to order the fabric in whole yard increments until we get the technical glitch corrected or we switch over to the new shopping cart system in the next few weeks.

We got in some gorgeous Bali Handpaints from Hoffman this last week.

Some Christmas fabric is just starting to arrive. This is from the Wrenly Christmas collection from Westminster Fibers.

From Maywood Studios we finally got in some of their Farmville collection. This was due in 2 months ago and finally arrived.

Also from Maywood, we received in a couple designs from their Tales of the Riverbank line.

For notions we got in some more D-ring hardware for bag handles, this time in black.

That’s it for now, but there’s more coming in just a few days. Plus, we’ll keep you updated on the details of the online store problem.

A little trouble with the online store

Okay, this is why we are changing our online shopping cart. That change could be as soon as 2 weeks from now. Lu and I are working hard at getting everything loaded and ready to go.

The main thrust of this post is I’m going to show you some new items we just added into the store in another post. The problem is, we can’t get the online configuration to work and we’ve been trying for 5 days. I have yet to hear back from the support team on this problem.

This means that the new products, specifically fabric, can only be purchased in whole yard increments until we get this fixed. I’m hoping it will be soon. Your patience is appreciated.

New items – stake your claim today!

I told you the new stuff would be coming in fast. So fast that I’ve had no time to update this blog. Now, this is all brand new inventory – I won’t be showing you re-ordered items. So, let’s show you what we have…

It’s time to start those Halloween quilts. From Andover/Makower we got in these two designs from their All Hallow’s Eve collection. We also got this design on the right from their London Sights line.

Not to be outdone, Moda sent us these designs from their Happy Howloween line. The design on the left is a panel.

Another design from Cara Collections’ Serenity line.

Our red, white and black line-up got a boost from Henry Glass’ Black White & Currant III collection.

We have an eclectic group from Michael Miller. Dots, stripes and food designs that would look good as a barbeque apron. Oh, and is it too early for Christmas fabric? That’s starting to come in, as well.

Red Rooster sent us a couple designs from Rosa’s Collection.

And we received these new geometrics from the Riverwoods Line 5.

Rounding it all up, we have the Grand Hotel designs from Westminster Fibers.

Of course, we have brand new books for you. Furoshiki Fabric Wraps, Simple Charm, Skinny Quilts, Sliver Quilts, Small Pieces Spectacular Quilts and T-Shirt Quilts Made Easy.

Now, let’s add some new patterns into the mix. We have Amie Chouette, Braidwork, Cabin at the Crossroads, Caddy Pad, Concord Kitties, Fill ‘Er Up and Le Arti-Chat.

We also added some pre-made totes to our inventory. We have the Eco Tote from William Morris as well as the Eco Wheelie Tote featuring quilt blocks around the world.

That’s it for now, but we have more stuff we’re checking in as I write this. Just as soon as I have images and info, I’ll post it to the blog. In the meantime, come on in or shop online. A lot of these items won’t last long.

Happy Quilting!

Things going on

First of all, I want to thank you for your patience. We’ve had a perfect storm of weirdness happen all at once, so we are way behind in just about everything.

I just posted the new items for April (here it is May) and now I have to get to work on the newsletter. More about that in a bit.

Teri has had some medical issues which, we hope, will be over soon. But that has us traveling back and forth to the Seattle area every week or so. This is why we have employees, but they have things happening, too.

Gail was ill for a couple days, Barb got really sick last week and Amy had a death in the family. All in all, we had no idea what was going to happen while we were out of town. But Gail improved rapidly and she and Lu held down the fort for us until we could return on Sunday. I have to thank them profusely for stepping up like that and running the store with no problems.

Now, as for the newsletter, I’ve been getting feedback on my decision to use the blog as the main update and record the video newsletter as a wrap-up, eliminating the text version. The reason for this is that there are only so many hours in the day and I have many projects running at once.

Now, some people have quit receiving our email because “they don’t do Facebook” and they can’t play the video newsletter. I’ll try to make it clear in the next email that anyone can get our blog feed without registering for the blog – you just have to register to leave comments. You don’t have to use Facebook to receive the blog posts, but you can.

I’m still new to blogging, so if you have anything to suggest or ideas that I can add to the blog, please post a comment to any post. Thanks!

New Products in April (Part 2)

Well, we got a little behind this last month due to illness and family emergencies. I’ll post that in another message in the Sound Off category.

Lots of stuff is coming in all of a sudden, so watch for more posts soon. We have been getting in replacements for items and fabric that have sold out, but I won’t bother showing you those – you’ve seen them before.

Let’s look at the new fabric. From Westminster Fibers we got in these four designs from their Cocoon collection designed by Valori Wells.

From Timeless Treasures we received these six designs from their French Court line. If you are into tan and black, this collection is for you.

From Hobbs Heirloom Wool we got a large roll of 108″ wool batting. We are really recommending wool batting – if you haven’t tried it yet, you really should. Wool is warmer than cotton, breathes easily and needles go through smoothly because of the natural lanolin in the fibers. From what we hear, once you try it, you’re hooked.

We’ve added three more book titles: More Take 5 Quilts by Kathy Brown, Scrap Appliqué Playground by Kay Mackenzie and Midnight Quilts by Lerlene Nevaril.

We got in a lot of new patterns for you. First Choice Boxers for Kids from Timber Lane Press goes with the grownup version we’ve carried for a number of months. Eve’s Garden and Promise Ring are from Sue Pelland Designs.

The Feathered Flowers Quilt and Criss-Cross Quilt are from Fun & Done Quilting and Northern Jewel is from Make It Easy Sewing & Craft.

Scrappy Squares is from Out On A Limb and Front & Center is from Seams & Dreams.

We also added some more notions and tools. We have the Dial-A-Needle tool from Clover for selecting assorted hand needles. From Superior Threads we received mono-poly thread in a Smoke color. From Creative Grids we got in the Fat Quarter Cutter ruler.

To top it off we got in the Guidelines Ruler Connector and Buddy Bear 3.75″ embroidery scissors.

We are also starting a new Special of the Week program for selected fabrics, books, patterns, etc. Each special will last a minimum of one week and will generally include fabric and items that we do not intend to restock – when they’re gone, they’re gone.

That’s it for now, but we should have more to show you in just a few days.
